A familiar doe and one of her twin fawns now about six months old munch the weed burrs off one another. The two fawns showed up in late spring playing and running circles through the woods and nearby yards at least three circuits before stopping to pant and pant. One spotted fawn later returned to this spot with its sibling and doe but it had a leg broken in at least two places below the knee. Here the injured one which has grown more slowly than this young one, is bedded down in tall weeds completely out of site. Here they show their winter coats that are more gray than the mid-year coats that are auburn. copyright JimMendenhallPhotos.com 2013
